The Distinctive Terroir of
Podgoriei Huși
The Huși vineyard, located on the quiet hills surrounding the city, benefits from a distinct terroir, essential for the remarkable character of the wines produced in this region. The unique terroir of Huși is a blend of natural conditions that favor the cultivation of high quality wines.
Varied soils and favorable climate
The Huși vineyard is characterized by diverse soils, including ashy soils and brown forest soils, which provide ideal conditions for vines. These soils contribute to the development of intense flavors and allow the grapes to accumulate high acidity, an essential factor in the production of top sparkling wines.
Altitude and southern exposure
The region benefits from a favorable climate with warm summers and mild winters, and the moderate altitude ensures ideal ripening of the grapes. Optimal southern exposure and nearly 4,000 hours of sunlight per year are essential factors that help preserve the acidity and intensify the grapes’ natural flavors.
